There's a lot of chat about collage at school just now. At my last tutorial it was suggested that I think about considering it as a way to expand my own practice. I thought i'd better look at someone who was really good at it first.

Mantegna

hmmmn...it is good, really good, but I still think I like Dorothy Cross better. Hers made me laugh out loud. A funny feminist...at last. (although I don't think it's meant to be funny..........no.........definitely not funny).

Caravaggio

Edward Hopper

I've been thinking about how to film my film...and had a need to look at some painters. It's taking me so long to figure out the technology involved, that I reckon I might as well enjoy some painting and look at what these people do with space.

I really love the colour too in these works by Hopper.
